Celina

behind the scenes with UYWI staff
name: Celina Camarillo
title: Director of the UYWI National Conference

favorite kind of pizza:
Most often I eat Pepperoni, but I really enjoy veggie and the combination of green bell pepper and sausage! And always eaten with crushed red pepper!

favorite sports team/sport: Spent 14 years of my life playing softball. I don’t play softball anymore but stay active with 5k runs and my 6am Spin Class. I will run my 2nd ½ marathon in January. I enjoy watching any sport/team in person (not so much on TV) but my favorite to watch is by brother Esteban’s College games and my brother Nick’s Whittier Christian High School football games! Go Heralds!

I could live without: The body’s aches and pains… and tiredness. Its seems to always come at the worst time and I can’t pretend to power through it because its all over my face and my eyes get red!

recent good read/flick (why?):

In A Pit With A Lion On a Snowy Day, Mark Batterson -
an awesome read based on most inconceivable and inspirational passages in 2 Samuel 23:20-21 on Benaiah (one of David’s warriors) who killed two of Moab’s mightiest warriors and on another time chased a lion down into a pit on a snowy day and killed it. Another time, armed with only a club, he killed a great Egyptian warrior who was armed with a spear. It was a great reminder and challenge on how to survive and thrive when opportunity roars!

Looking forward to my next read; the fiction book: Saint by Ted Dekker

best tip in ministry: Relationship is the key, with those you serve and with God. If we focus on loving and being in relationship with God and loving and being in relationship with others then the how to (programs and methods) doesn’t matter as much because were putting our energy and focus where God commanded. It’s simple but revolutionary.
